WASHINGTON: Former Pakistan diplomat to the US, Hussain Haqqani, has reprimanded capital punishment granted to resigned Indian naval force officer Kulbhushan Jadhav, saying Islamabad's "spy amusements" are making it harder for the two South Asian neighbors to try and investigate peace.
"Yet, as with much about Pakistan, the trial's short and shrouded course of events may have more to do with inside elements than with the benefits of the case itself," he wrote in an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal.
Haqqani, who as of now is the executive for South and Central Asia at the Hudson Institute, a top American research organization, said putting an Indian on death column was a simple approach to abandon energy for new talks.
